Due to the severe weather forecast for this afternoon and night, all after-school activities and events have been canceled Thursday, March 16, according to an Allen Independent School District news release.
“All schools and transportation services will continue to operate and release on a normal schedule this afternoon,” Allen ISD said in the release. “After-school tutoring, including late bus service, is canceled this afternoon.”
The after-school care program Kids Club will remain open this evening, but it will close early at 5:30 p.m.
“We encourage all parents to pick up their children as soon as possible so that our Kids Club staff have time to travel home safely,” the release said.
If severe weather and/or a tornado warning occurs during dismissal time, students will remain on campus and head to the pre-designated safety locations inside the campus.
“We thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue to monitor the weather conditions and consult with local emergency personnel,” Allen ISD said in the release. “Please continue to monitor the Allen ISD website and official social media pages for information and updates.”
