Global warming has brought our Earth into flames that we can not control. In contrast to everything that the news and people who “care” about the environment say, we can not prevent global warming. The change is officially out of reach for anyone and the only real solution is slowing it down.
Climate change is a long term shift in weather patterns in different places around the world. This has been a problem since the mid 20th century and will continue for forever. Because of climate change, we will be seeing more droughts, hurricanes, heat waves, and bigger wildfires such as the ones in Los Angeles.
When people think of global warming we think of recycling, walking instead of driving, or eating more vegetables. This can only slow down the heat, but even if we were to end all human-made greenhouse gases the Earth’s temperature would still rise according to Climate.gov.
Many people don’t know that, with the rising temperatures, our moods are getting affected, which can be known as heat stress. It has been scientifically proven that heat can increase fights and even wars , according to abundon.org. There are also dangers put on outside workers because of illness with ascending temperatures.
Another example would be beaches “disappearing” due to sea level rises. We can probably expect that 14 percent to 15 percent of ocean fronts will not be identifiable by 2050. This is caused by rock erosion from crashing waves.
Global warming is caused by not just us, but factory workers as well.Worldwide factories contribute to global warming by 75.7%, mainly from the fossil fuel industry. Former President Joe Biden signed an Inflation Reduction Act to help climate change by reducing carbon emissions. However, 2024 has been our warmest year yet.
Presidents in the United States have tried time and time again to pass climate legislation, but none of them have ever seemed to be strong enough to fully go through. Now, Trump has chosen to step away from global warming action and increase oil and gas production and wants to remove electric vehicles according to PBS News. Even the government has seen this as a problem however find it hard to overcome and now push it aside in their agendas.
Climate change has been shown to generate a chain of problems that take more than a little human modification to fix. Global warming will not end the world, but it will cause more than a third of the plant and animal species to go extinct, according to biologicaldiversity. This means that our reliance on animals and plants for food will go down and prices will go up, causing inflation to go up. Telling ourselves that we can fix a problem bigger than life itself is hard to put into a few steps.
Some people believe that global warming is something that happens naturally and is not caused by humans. However, global warming has been proven to be caused because of the rise of carbon dioxide levels, better described as burning smoke. This can only happen due to factories that are man-made such as coal, oil and gas.
Other major causes also include chemicals such as methane, nitrous oxide, and chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). All are made and put out into the atmosphere by humans and the more that are produced the quicker global warming speeds up.
Wanting to change the problems with the environment is a good thing and people still should not strive away from it. However, we must be honest with ourselves and know that slowing down climate change is all we can do and it is better than not doing anything at all.
