If there’s one thing I’d like to stress before you turn up your nose at this collection, it’d be: A studying playlist doesn’t need to be composed of your favorite songs. When you play your favorite songs, you tend to turn the volume up and the task away. Hardcore rock and rap can get distracting, and frankly, “Uptown Funk” is not going to make you want to sit and study; if you don’t believe me, just watch.
Film scores are great; there are no lyrics to sing along to, and I’ve found good somewhat mellow songs from my Sam Smith and “Take Me to Church” Pandora stations. Acoustic versions can make a perfect setting, but steer from anything too saddening (I mean, studying is a sad enough task already).
Senior Bryn Chambers loves cats, her trombone and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
