Fall Playlist
Chandelier- cover by Jordan Smith: I was never a huge fan of Sia’s original recording, but this “The Voice” contestant made me fall in love with this song. If Smith isn’t “The Voice” to begin this playlist, I don’t know who is.
Mess is mine- Vance Joy: Joy’s voice and lyrics give you nothing but the safe feeling you get when you’re wrapped in blankets reading on a rainy autumn day.
Drops of Jupiter- Train: This song is the anthem of nostalgia, but it doesn’t feel sad at all, unlike most nostalgic songs you’ll hear.
Sweater Weather- The Neighborhood: Although it may be stereotypical, I can’t think of a cozier autumn song that’ll make you want to pull out your sweater drawer.
Bruises- Train feat. Ashley Monroe: This song about old connections shows the lighter and livelier side of autumn.
Earned It- The Weeknd: This song’s beat and orchestral lines remind me of drinking chai: it’s a bit dark but still tasteful.
Treacherous- Taylor Swift: This lesser known song of Swift’s is sweet and beautifully acoustic, but it speeds up and has perfect background vocals. It sounds like riding bikes through a multi-colored forest.
Skyfall- Adele: This has remained my favorite Adele song because it’s just so much more different than anything else she’s written. With a beautiful piano and accompaniment and jazz influences, Adele keeps her gorgeous vocals in this song fit for a superhero theme.
Can’t Feel My Face- The Weeknd: This is the perfect song for fall car rides with friends. You can’t help but dance and sing along to it.
Love on Top- Beyonce: This song’s addictive beat and ascending vocals provided by Queen Bey make the perfect second-to-last song.
Come back… Be here- Taylor Swift: This song about love that always barely misses paths is a beautiful but tragic closer for the fall.
Senior Bryn Chambers loves cats, her trombone and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
