Impressive Performance on Offense pushes Allen past McKinney Boyd
The Allen Eagles pushed their record to 17-5 Tuesday night in a 77-57 point victory against McKinney Boyd Tuesday night.
With competition from rival Plano West, Allen came into this game looking to win in order to keep their position within their division secure. They are tied for second in the division with Plano West, only one win behind Plano East in first place.
In the game against McKinney Boyd, Allen started off with a quick paced offense that instantly caught McKinney off guard. Sophomore guard Jerritt Dixon contributed 7 first quarter points en route to Allen’s 19-11 lead at the end of the quarter. Boyd managed to sway the momentum in their favor due in part to finally being able to figure out Allen’s offense, and pulled closer to Allen with a score of 31-28, Allen, at the half.
The third quarter was the reason for Allen’s impressive win, as the team showcased their offensive strength and their capability as a team to work together on the court. Allen started the quarter off with a 20-0 run on offense, and from there, Allen didn’t look back. The Eagles took control of the rest of the game, led by the high-scoring performances by Ben Dixon and Cameron Christon.
Allen looks to carry on momentum from this game into their next at Plano High school on January 15th.
