FCA to Host an Egg-cellent Event for Teachers
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will host an Easter egg hunt on March 23 at 5:45 p.m. in the Allen High School practice gym. Coaches from the around the district as well as high school teachers and staff will be able to bring their kids and partake in the event.
“Our Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and cheerleaders, and some of the [Peer Assistance Leaders] all work together to hide easter eggs,” FCA sponsor Jennifer Clements said. “And the [Future Farmers of America] come, and they bring their bunnies, and so the kids kind of have their own very small petting zoo.”
The annual event brings in around 40 kids each year, providing games and activities for them in addition to an appearance by Tuffy the mascot and a reading of the Easter story.
“To be able to give back to the faculty is a great feeling, because the teachers and staff do so much for us students,” freshman FCA member Linus Emmett said. “It’s going to be great seeing the children smile and being able to give back to the staff.”
Anyone interested in volunteering for the event can talk to Ms. Clements in room B209.
