Superintendent Dr. Lance Hindt was named the new superintendent of Katy ISD on Friday.

He will begin his new position replacing retiring superintendent Alton Frailey on Aug. 1. Hindt attended Katy ISD’s James E. Taylor High School, graduating in 1983. Upon his selection, Katy ISD school board trustees told him, “welcome home.”

Hindt has been the superintendent of Allen ISD since 2014 and has previously worked in Stafford Municipal School District and Fort Bend ISD.

There is no word on his replacement as of yet.
