“It’s a lot of fun, and it’s kind of like an escape for me.”
“I got interested in art at a young age. My dad used to draw a lot, and so he got me into drawing. Then I thought 3D art was more fun, which it is. I started taking pottery seriously when I was in ninth grade. I got offered the studio artist thing at the McKinney Art House, and I started doing shows and selling my artwork. I got into a bunch of exhibitions, and that was really fun, so it started becoming more real for me because it was tangible. You’re making money, you’re meeting people, you’re making connections, and you’re like ‘Oh it’s an actual thing now.’ It’s a lot of fun, and it’s kind of like an escape for me. You can hand build, you can throw, there’s so many things you can do with it. I’m not sure what exactly I want to do after high school yet, because the future is scary, but I do I think that I will do pottery or something related to pottery.”
