Red Cross Eagles to Host 3rd Annual Blood Drive
The Red Cross Eagles are hosting their third annual blood drive at Allen High School. The blood drive will be on Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 8 a.m to 2 p.m. To register donors must be 17 years or older to register or 16 with parent permission.
“We had over 140 students participate [last year],” Red Cross Eagles sponsor Christina Lau said. “We hope to match or increase the number of donors this year.”
Students seventeen years or older do not need parent permission. Fill out the form online and bring it on the day of the blood drive. For people under 16 years, bring a parent signature form which is on the American Red Cross website. All students must bring their registration form and student ID. The blood drive will be held in the atrium of the gym.
“I feel the need to help out,” junior donor Jaylen Thomas said. “If I have the opportunity to help someone in need, I’m going to.”
This will be the last blood drive for the fall semester. However, there will be another blood drive in April.
“I encourage students to come by and donate,” Lau said. “Just by simply donating blood you can save someone’s life.”
