“Freshman year I was diagnosed with depression. I’ve had to battle with suicidal thoughts and rustle with my own demons. An outlet for this, because sometimes I feel kind of weird talking to people, is to write a lot about it. I am a creative writer, so anything that I’m thinking I put into my stories. They are very personal for me, but I know that I’m not the only person that deals with [depression]. It makes it a goal for me to publish works and create things that are relatable for other people and let people know that they aren’t alone in their thoughts and their feelings.”
