Reception to welcome new superintendent Jan. 10
A community and staff reception will be held Tuesday to welcome new Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Scott Nivens. The reception will take place from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Commons.
Niven released a statement to other members of the school district today to express his gratitude and and excitement about his new position.
“It is an honor to serve as superintendent of a school district with such an outstanding reputation,” Niven said in the email. “I look forward to visiting all of the campuses and support facilities in the next few weeks and hopefully meeting many of you.”
The school board named Niven as the lone finalist for the position Nov. 7. He previously worked as superintendent of Red Oak ISD, a school district roughly three times smaller than Allen ISD.
“I also wanted to take a moment and say thank you to everyone who has made my family and me feel so welcome in our move to Allen,” Niven wrote. “We can see this is a special community and look forward to actively becoming part of it.”
