Humans of Allen: Claire Dridge
“When I first started at Allen High School, I really struggled with what I wanted to do with my life. I didn’t think college was an option for me because of my learning differences, so throughout school I was just going because I had to. My mom started to push me and make me feel like college would be the best thing for me. Allen helped, but since it is so big I didn’t really get that one on one. What has helped me is maintaining close relationships with teachers. They kind of met me where I stood. In freshman year, I had Mrs. Sigle and she was the first math teacher that showed me that I actually loved and could excel in math despite my learning differences.”
