Humans of Allen: Shabir Karimi
“Nothing is more important than the future”
“My family is from Afghanistan and basically as everyone knows the country is war-ridden, poverty-ridden, very malnourished. The children of Afghanistan are the future, and what I want to do is become a pediatric surgeon and help this very cause. As you know, Afghanistan does not have many resources and I want to be the savior of my country. I want to help those in need. My mission doesn’t end with Afghanistan, of course, but I want to go all around the world and help kids in poverty because to me, nothing is more important than the future which is our youth and their future. As I see it, human development cannot go without them, so if we don’t take action to help children in need, how are we ensuring a better future for ourselves? I want to be able to do my part in the world, and live life helping those who are in danger of losing theirs.”
