Humans of Allen: Radina Skerlev
“My family is from the country of Bulgaria. My mother moved [to the United States] when she was 29 and my father moved when he was 22. Although I was born in America I’ve been to Bulgaria at least ten times, probably more than that. The longest period of time I’ve been in Bulgaria is six months, and I actually went to kindergarten there. I taught myself how to read and write in Bulgarian. I’ve never been formally educated but I know how to speak it almost fluently. I watch turkish show and I read in Bulgarian to practice my Bulgarian.”
