Whats Up Next: Disney+

Disney+ has become a hotspot for the newest streaming platform. As people reach the end of their Netflix binge lists and their Hulu watch parties, Disney is already on top of it in the realm of new content.  With show’s popping up like “The Mandalorian ” and “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”, it’s no wonder that Disney is at the top of their game. Here are some of the new material making its way to Disney this month!

 

Out By Sept. 1: 

“Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe” (2020)- The long-awaited animated full-length feature is finally here, and more spectacular than ever. For those who grew up with the hijinks of Doctor Doof, the creativity of Phineas and Ferb, and the poor-busting ability of Candace, this movie offers another glimpse into their lives. Following Candace getting abducted and sent to an alien planet, the boys and their friends go to save her, only to find she doesn’t want to be saved by her annoying little brothers.

“Cinderella” (2015)- The critically acclaimed 2015 remake of Walt Disney’s “Cinderella”, starring Lily James and Richard Madden, is finally arriving home to Disney+. The revamp of the classic 1950’s movie- also on Disney +!- brings new depth and light to a timeless film. 

 

Out By Sept. 4:

“Mulan” (2020)- The highly anticipated live-action “Mulanwill be on Disney+ with the caveat of $29.99 for access on this date. The movie has been entirely revamped, but at its heart stays true to the original animated feature – a girl, going to war in her father’s place, dressed as a man. A fight for honor, respect and her nation ensues.

“Never Been Kissed” (1999)- This romantic comedy follows the story of a young copywriter going undercover in high school; and in the process, reliving her high school experience and getting a do-over for everything that went wrong in it. This popular rom-com takes high school and romedy to a whole ‘nother level.

 

Out By Sept. 18:

“Ever After: A Cinderella Story” (1998)- The second “Cinderella” spin-off on this list, “Ever After” is a retelling of the original tail in a whole new way. Looking through a historical lens, Drew Barrymore and Dougray Scout bring a whole new dynamic to the prince and his Cinderella. 

“Once Upon a Time” (2011-2018)- This fan-favorite series is finally arriving at Disney+! This series revolving around fairytale characters forgetting who they are and their chosen one bringing those memories to life again made a splash in 2011 and is bringing it all back for 2020.
